The Mexican Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AMEXCAP) is the only Private Equity and Venture Capital Association in Mexico representing more than 80 GPs and over USD $69 billion in assets.

Liliana is CEO from AMEXCAP since April, 2018. Before this, she was Venture Capital Director of the National Entrepreneurship Institute (INADEM). She has more than 15 years of experience in development banks in areas such as projects evaluation, technical assistance and project management with multilateral and bilateral funding.
She has worked as an independent consultant and project manager of local economic development projects financed with international cooperation funds.
Mrs. Reyes has graduated in international affairs from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. She has master degree in Local Economic Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a master degree in International Cooperation and Project Management from the Instituto Universitario Ortega y Gasset from Madrid, Spain. She also has a Diploma in Private Equity from the IPADE Business School.
INADEM is an institution within the Mexican Ministry of Economy, which aims to implement, execute and coordinate the national policy to support entrepreneurs, and micro, small and medium enterprises, fostering innovation, competitiveness and projection in national and international markets.
Presidente AMEXCAP
In May 2016, Raul Gallegos joined the Asset Management group at Credit Suisse to develop and lead and new Real Estate lending platform through the launch of a specialized fund (CBFI) focused on issuing loans for income producing properties. The target asset classes for this vehicle include office buildings, retail centers, industrial properties and hotels. The fund was successfully closed in 3Q17 and to date it has invested over $17 billion pesos.
Prior to this, Mr. Gallegos was the President and CEO for GE in Mexico since July 2013, where he was focused on business development and growth in the country through the various industrial and financial business units. At the time, the company had 11,000 employees, 17 manufacturing plants, 5 service centers and the largest engineering center in Mexico with 1800 specialized engineers.
Raúl began his career with GE in 1997 in Stamford, Connecticut with the Latin America group of GE Capital Structured Finance, where he worked on debt and equity transactions for infrastructure projects in Energy, Telecom and the Transportation industries.
In 1999, he returned to México to join the GE Capital Real Estate business, where he first worked as a Relationship Manager and originator, and then as the leader of the Debt Business. During 7 years, he was focused on consolidating and growing their loan portfolio, achieving a level of specialization unique in the industry, and a completely integrated platform that became the market leader with over $4 billion dollars in assets. From 2006 to 2013, he served as General Manager of GE Real Estate in México, where he was responsible for both the debt and equity businesses which totaled more than $5 billion dollars in assets, including managing Intramerica Real Estate Group, one of the principal owners and operators of industrial properties in Mexico with a portfolio of more than 200 buildings and 17 million square feet. In December 2012, GE Capital Real Estate sold this platform to Macquarie to create what is now Fibra Macquarie.
Raúl is a Civil Engineer from Universidad Anáhuac and he has an MBA from Columbia University in New York. He started his professional career at Industrias Gar-Vel, one of the most important mechanical contractors in Mexico, where he participated and led some of the most important construction projects in the country.

Agustín is the Managing Director of Wayra Hispam, leading the Corporate Venture Capital strategy for the Telefonica Movistar Group in Spanish speaking Latam. He is an Industrial Engineer graduated from ITBA and holds a dual MBA degree from ESIC in Madrid and SISU University in Shanghai. After holding various global roles within the Telefonica Group, he joined Wayra in 2020, first as Argentina's Country Manager and then as Regional Director. Additionally, Agustín is a Board Member of AMEXCAP and actively participates in promoting Venture Capital in Latin America and Europe.

Alejandro is Managing Director at Alloy Capital in Mexico, a private credit company with more than 25 years of experience investing in the US, Mexico and other emerging markets.
Alloy Capital administers more than USD$200 million in Mexico and invests via structured loans in companies that are going through a transformational change such as M&A, international expansion or accelerated growth.
Alejandro has experience in investment banking in London, England, collaborating with Goldman Sachs and Banco Santander; He was also Managing Partner of ZIMMA Corporate Finance in Mexico City. He is CoFounder and General Partner of Soldiers Field Angels, a venture capital fund made up of more than 30 Harvard alumni. Blair C. Smith is Senior Director of the Center for Financial Markets at the Milken Institute, with more than 20 years of financial services and capital markets experience. He leads the Center’s Access to Capital and strategic innovative financing initiatives, to enhance economic and social impact. Mr. Smith also leads the Institute's work on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Asset Management, as well as Impact Investment including CDFIs, MDIs and Opportunity Zone Funds. Mr. Smith was the Founder and CEO of Promethean AB Strategies LLC, a strategic consultancy focused on helping diverse led Asset Management firms achieve their goals. He is the former Chief Investment Officer for the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corporation, a CDFI (Community Development Financial Institution). Mr. Smith was also responsible for co-managing a $5.2 billion Emerging Manager investment portfolio, within the State of New York Common Retirement Fund. Earlier in his career, Mr. Smith served for over 10 years as a Relationship Manager with both the Greenwich, Connecticut and New York City Wealth Management teams at various top tier banks.

Brian Requarth, born in the Silicon Valley, has been building technology companies and investing in startups in Latin America for over 15 years. He is a co-founder of Latitud, a technology platform that is building the infrastructure to support the next generation of startups in Latin America. He is also the founder and partner of Latitud Ventures, a fund that invests in seed and pre-seed startups in Mexico and Latin America, seeking to connect Latin American entrepreneurs with capital from major international investors.
Before Latitud, Brian founded VivaReal and scaled Brazil's largest real estate tech company as its CEO. He led a merger with ZAP Imóveis, becoming the chairman of the board before negotiating the sale for over $600 million. Brian is also a prolific angel investor with 80 startups in his current portfolio, founder and partner of Latitud Ventures, a fund launched in 2021, with more than 100 startups in Mexico and Latin America, author of the book Viva the Entrepreneur and host of one of the leading podcasts on startups and venture capital in Latin America.
Carlos Caraveo is a graduate form University Anáhuac -Faculty of Engineering- earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and has a master’s degree in finance awarded by the same University, has a degree in Corporate Finance awarded by Kellogg School of Management, with more than 25 five years of experience in Corporate Finance, Financing and Treasury. He began his career in Cifra S.A. de C.V. (Wal-Mart of Mexico) where held various positions within the Finance Division focused its efforts on financial planning and evaluation of business opportunities for Aurrera, Vips, Suburbia and Bodegaurrera. Since 1993, he has held various positions in several companies of the PMI Group (International trading arm of Pemex), where he was in charge of the Vice Presidency of Finance for PMI Holdings North America (Houston), company responsible to manage Pemex interest in Deer Park, Texas (strategic alliance with Shell), was responsible for the management of financial operations of the PMI Comercio Internacional S.A. de C.V. (México) where he administered about 50 billion dollars of assets and was in charge of finance expansion projects and meet the requirements of working capital for the PMI Group. In 2012, was the Pemex Associate Managing Director of inance being responsible for: obtaining the external financing requirements for investment and expansion programs, investing the excess of cash and to manage the financial resources of Pemex and in 2018 was appointed as Pemex Treasurer. Dario is an Actuary with a Master´s degree in Finance and 20+ years of experience working in international corporations. He has been part of Investment areas during the last 17 years, with International experience covering mainly Latin America countries.
Dario joined MetLife in 2007 in Argentina, where he started his investment career as a Trader. In 2014 he was promoted to Portfolio Manager, responsible for Argentina, Colombia & Uruguay investment portfolios (~$1bl). In 2016 he moved to Mexico to oversee the biggest LatAm portfolio for Metlife (~$7Bl), with the new Solvency II Regulation as a challenge. He is a member of Metlife Mexico Executive Committee.

Diana Muñozcano tiene más de 20 años de experiencia en la ejecución de transacciones de banca de inversión, capital privado, financiamiento y estructuración de proyectos de infraestructura y energía en México.
Desde el año 2006 ha desarrollado su carrera profesional en Grupo Indi, una de las principales empresas desarrolladoras de infraestructura en México, en donde actualmente se desempeña como Vicepresidenta de Infraestructura. Diego Serebrisky is an experienced and recognized investor in Latin America. He is co-founder & Managing Partner of Dalus Capital, a venture capital fund based in Mexico (previously called Alta Ventures Mexico). He invests in early-stage Latin American startups in four themes: inclusion, climate innovation, business productivity, and digital consumers. He has led Dalus/Alta Ventures investments and is a board member in Clip, Kubo Financiero, Xertica, UnDosTres, Aptuno, Bankingly, DecisionNext, ZeBrands (as observer), and previously Technisys.
Before Dalus, Diego was Managing Director at Advent International, a global private equity fund. He spent 13 years in its Mexico City office and then relocated to Bogota, Colombia, where he launched and was Head of Advent’s Colombian office.
Previously Diego worked as a consultant with McKinsey & Co. in Caracas, Venezuela, Johannesburg, South Africa, and New York City providing strategy advice to large clients.
Diego was president of AMEXCAP – the Mexican Private Equity Association – during 2008 and 2009 and was a member of the Board during 2017-2019. He was also a founding member of the Board of ColCapital – the Colombian Private Equity Association – from its inception to early 2016. He also collaborates as Endeavor and Masschallenge mentor and participates in developing the entrepreneurial ecosystems in Colombia and Mexico. Eduardo Cortina is Co-Managing Partner of SouthLight Capital, managing investments in Mexico and the Latin American region. Eduardo is the former Chairman of the Mexican Private Equity Association (AMEXCAP).
Mr. Cortina brings 17 years of finance industry experience, 14 years of which he spent specializing in Private Equity. In addition to focusing on sourcing and executing several investments in Mexico and broader Latin America, he has also led fundraising efforts in Mexico and supported on most aspects of the fundraising in the regional fund. Has been involved in over a dozen transactions in private equity and serves on the board of four companies in the Latam portfolio.
Before joining SouthLight Capital, Mr. Cortina worked in portfolio management and equity investments for Banco Santander in Mexico from 2007 to 2008. Prior to Santander, from 2005 to 2007, he worked at Actinver, a medium-sized Investment Bank in Mexico. He started his career in a water treatment plant construction company.
Mr. Cortina holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana, an MBA degree from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University and is a CFA® charter holder.

He was also part of the investment team at a private equity fund in Mexico.
In 2017 he co-founded ProximityParks, a vertically integrated real estate investment firm, with a pure play focus on building the largest, most environmentally friendly, and highest-performing portfolio of last mile logistics industrial properties in Mexico.
ProximityParks was the pioneer in this sector in Mexico and has quickly become the leading player in its field. It closed 2022 with a portfolio of 10 properties, diversified across Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara, and worth over USD $200 M.

He was responsible for listing the first Mexican REIT, and of designing an instrument so that the Mexican Pension Funds (AFORES) could invest in alternatives. Through this instrument more than 4 billion USD were raised from the AFORES to invest in infrastructure, real estate and private equity. During this time revenues at the MSE grew at 10 CAGR and the operating margin by 830 bp. In 2013, financing through the MSE reached a record 7% of GDP. Téllez also presided over a full upgrading of the technological capabilities of the exchange putting it among the best in class in throughput and low latency.
Téllez opened the office of the Carlyle Group in Mexico, and was its co-head from 2003 to 2006. From 2001 to 2003, he was Executive Vice President (CEO) of Desc, one of Mexico’s most important industrial and real estate companies of 2 the country, where he led the financial restructuring of the then heavily indebted conglomerate. During the 2001-2006 he was a member of the board of FEMSA, Grupo México, BBVA-Bancomer, Cultiba and Global Industries. As a public official, he was a key player in policy decisions to improve the structure of the Mexican economy in macroeconomic, financial, energy and agricultural issues such as: putting in place the most ambitious program to expand Mexican transportation infrastructure based on public and private financing. Participating in structuring and negotiating the financial package that allowed Mexico to solve the financial crisis of 1995; being part of the team that implemented the bailout program of the Mexican banking system in 1995-1997.
Leading the expansion of power generation and transmission infrastructure during the late nineties; leading the negotiations with Saudi Arabia and the rest of the OPEC countries that prevented the collapse of oil rices in the late 90´s; heading the expansion of oil and natural gas production in Mexico and leading the team that established the fully Funded Pension System.
Téllez drafted the constitutional changes and implementing legislation, which ended the agrarian reform and gave full property rights to communal lands. He was also responsible for negotiating the agricultural sector in NAFTA.
Téllez is also member of several non-profit organizations amongst others the Mexican Council of Foreign Affairs, the Trilateral Commission and the Woodrow Wilson Institute in Washington, where he became Co-Chairman of the WW Mexican-Institute since July 2019. His role includes sourcing, evaluating, structuring and closing new investments, managing PV’s current investment portfolio, and participating in the board of directors of some of PV’s portfolio companies.
Through his experience, Rodolfo has advised middle-market companies on a variety of transactions including mergers, acquisitions, and capital raising activities totaling more than US$6.5 billion and invested in +30 early stage companies with over US$40 million in capital commitments. Rodolfo was previously Chief Investment Officer at PSM, an impact investing fund based out of Mexico City, M&A director at Fimecap, Vicepresident for BBVA Bancomer’s Americas Corporate Finance Group, and a Senior Associate at Credit Suisse’s M&A Technology Group. He received a BA in Economics from Monterrey Tec and earned an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business. He is a CFA charterholder.

Sergio graduated from UNAM, where he earned a Bachelor´s Degree in Economics in 1987. He did his graduate studies at the University of London, in the U.K., where Sergio obtained a M.Sc.
